Priya Marathe is one of the popular Indian actresses and stand-up comedian today. She was born and raised up in Thane and attended the AK Joshi School. She graduated at Bandodkar College. Initially, she never thought that she will end up acting. As a child, she dreams of becoming an Engineer, a Pilot or a Doctor. But when she enters college, she joins an inter-college drama competition and got the Best Actress and the Fresh Face of the Year Awards. She developed her confidence and tried her luck in acting. At first, she auditioned for a serial on Zee TV but she was not selected. But after some months, she got a call and she was cast in her debut serial,
Ya Sukhano Ya
. She was also trained by

and Santosh Saraf who also directed plays during her college years.
She was debuted in television through the Marathi series, Ya Sukhano Ya and subsequently entered various Marathi serials including the ETV Marathi’s
Char Divas Sasuche
where she bagged the parallel lead role as Sona Ashok Deshmukh. She was also seen on Zee Marathi’s
Kalat Nakalat
, Ha Khel Sawalyancha and Star Pravah’s Goshta Eka College Chi. In 2007, she made her debut in the Hindi television series as she appeared in the very popular Ekta Kapoor’s drama series,
Kasamh Se
as Vidya Bali, the daughter of Rashi (played by
Swati Anand
). Priya gained more fame after she acted as Varsha Satish Deshpande on Zee TV’s
Pavitra Rishta
. Later, the actress essayed the role of Jyoti Malhorta in the Hindi romantic teledrama, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. She joins the cast of the drama soap, Uttaran and played the role of Ruby, the girlfriend of Tiger (played by
Rohit Khurana
). From 2012 to 2014, Priya acted again in a Marathi serial entitled, Tu Tithe Mi and bags the negative lead role as Priya Mohite.Â
She also joined the reality-based comedy show, Comedy Circus Ke Superstars opposite
Sunil Pal
. She made a cameo appearance as Rani Saubhagyawati from Marwar in the historical drama series, Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap. Priya was also starred in the new crime-based series, Jayostute on Star Pravah. She bagged the challenging role of Pragati, a intelligent and fearless 25-year old lawyer who fights for the rights of the innocent.
She got married to her long-time actor friend,

, the son of the popular Marathi actor,
Shrikant Moghe
last April 24, 2012 which was held in a private ceremony at Pune, India. The actress is also on the lookout to act in the big screen someday.
