Thumri Ek Parampara was a Hindi-language televised show on DD National. This drama premiered in May 2018. Thumri Ek Parampara deals with the story of a highly acclaimed thumri singer and his struggle to keep his art alive. As a traditionalist, he wants his family, i.e., his children and his one and only brother, to keep the tradition of thumri inherited within the family. He urges them to keep the family name as thumri ustads. However, none are eager on the thought as they find the work cumbersome. But as fate narrates, a particular thumri singer is very interested in the art and hopes of gaining knowledge from the ustad. This story follows the guru and shishya as they deepen their passion and ignite the fire to keep the art alive.
