In the story, Shankar is a film director who starts an extra-marital affair with a superstar. His life completely changes from here onwards. Soon, his marriage becomes more dull as he starts cheating on his wife. The story is set in 1970s Bollywood.

The story begins at the point where Shankar is a struggling director at Bollywood. He has huge dreams of making a massive hit with a unique story. Meanwhile, he meets a famous beautiful actress Amna Parvez. After that, he tries to give her his number. Will Amna contact Shankar? The first episode deals with that. In the next episode, Shankar is extremely happy when Amna finally calls him. She asks him to meet her to have a professional discussion on his script. Shankar arrives late for the meeting and so, Amna gives him a challenge as punishment. What is the challenge? Will Shankar complete it? How will this love story proceed? In the next episode, we sneak into Shankar’s backstory. In a series of flashbacks, the audience is taken to three world of Shankar when he was at a a very young age and wanted to become successful. He escaped his past to do that and follow his dreams. When he came to Mumbai, he met the love of his life, Anju, and soon married her. Initially during the beginning of their relationship, Shankar is a little reserved. Even when Amna invites Shankar to her home, he always refuses as he knows it would he wrong on his part as a husband.

But things take a dark turn when Anju requests Shankar to give up his dream of becoming a successful Director. At this point, the only support Shankar can receive is from Amna. And from here, their love story begins. He soon admits that it was wrong to do that. He realises that he has made a mistake and tries to avoid Amna. But Amna does not leave a chance to contact him constantly. After all of her failed attempts, she goes to his home and pleads him to come back to her. Meanwhile, Shankar is also facing considerable challenges in his work life. He convinces Jagmohan to let him release his next film with him in theatres but is taken aback when he’s informed that Jagmohan is also releasing his massive movie on the same day. How will he take a friend’s betrayal? Later, Amna tries to commit suicide. It is discovered that she has been diagnosed with Paranoid Schizophrenia. Shankar finds out that Amna is delusional about the reality of her life. How will he handle the situation? The rest of the story deals with that.
