Due to the enormous fan following of the franchise, the makers decided to return with another chapter titled Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon- Season 3. The name of Barun's character is Advay Singh Raizada. Gul Khan is the producer and Four Lions Films is the production house behind it.

The creators first unveiled the title song as the previous title songs were immensely popular. This strategy worked as it piqued the interest of the viewers. The song had Barun Sobti, with a guitar and sporting a rugged look. Later, three promos were aired one by one. In the first promo, Barun enters an abandoned house and is seen walking around it with hatred. It is clear that someone betrayed him and killed his family. In the end he burns a photo of a lady, whose face is not shown, and he vows to seek revenge from the wrongdoer.

In the second promo, Shivani Tomar is seen worshipping an idol with her eyes closed. She is wearing a saree and a bell bottom blouse. While she is worshipping, the wind is blowing with her pallu. There is a lamp nearby. Barun comes from behind and when he witnesses this, he purposely pushes the lamp near her so that her saree burns. Ultimately, her clothes are burned and she starts to scream for help. Barun then removes his coat off and helps her. In the third promo, Barun tells Shivani to stand near a Ravana's statue so that he could click her photograph, which the other people are about to burn.

Since Shivani is unaware about this she obliges. As she poses, the people around burn the statue and it is about to fall on Shivani but Barun saves her in the nick of time. From the promos it is evident that Barun is out to avenge the murder of his parents and since their demise, has turned into an arrogant and rude person who doesn't value love. What will happen when Shivani's onscreen persona will come in his life and how will their journey from hatred to love happen, forms the crux of the story. The show will start from July 3, 2017 at eight in the evening and will run from Monday to Friday for every week.
