The storyline of the show revolved around Meher Kaur Dhillon, a very cheery and bubbly Punjabi girl who belongs to the family of village Panchayat. She falls for a very simple and hard-working IAS aspirant called Manav. They both love each other very much and start having an affair. One thing led to another and Meher gets pregnant with Manav’s child.

To defend their integrity, the couple decides to get married but Meher’s mother, Kulwant, who is the village Sarpanch wants her daughter to marry in a politician’s house. She wants Meher to marry Sarabhjit “Sarab” Gill who is a widower with a very young son named Param.  Kulwant aspires to become an MLA, which is only ever possible if Meher marries Sarab. So she gets Manav killed and after a month of wailing Meher agrees to marry Sarab. They both get married and the night of their wedding, Meher tells Sarab about the illegitimate child. Sarab gets furious but because of Meher’s begging, he decides to keep it a secret. Meher promises him that she will walk away from his life one day.

Sarab takes Meher to Siberia and leaves her there with some money and a house. He plans to come back home and tell everyone that Meher was killed in an accident. But through fate, Meher gets kidnapped and Sarab finds himself being put in jail for it. One of the kidnappers helps Meher to escape because of her condition and she starts her journey of saving Sarab’s life. The rest of the plot follows the struggle of Meher and Sarab as they try to keep their marriage intact. The show was directed by Jaladh K. Sharma and debuted on television on 1 July 2019. Alive but having lost his memory, Manav returns, falls in love, and marries Aditi. Upon regaining his memory, he learns that Karan is his son but later hands him over to Sarab and moves on to Aditi. Meher got arrested for the alleged murder of her brother Jagga. Sarab fails to save her.
