Set against the ostentatious backdrop of Bhopal (in Bikaner), the show depicts the royal Islamic vignette, culture, and meaningful symbolic rituals surrounding marriage quite beautifully. Raziya Begum is the matriarchal head of one of the most prestigious family of the city and has created her dynasty by herself, being at the forefront of politics and public life. A holder of the title of Bahu Begum, she is respected and revered by everyone. Although Raziya displays her emotions very rarely, she loves her son Azaan immensely, and her universe revolves around him. On hearing that her son will return from London after six long years for pursuing studies abroad, she gets thrilled and plans his marriage to her childhood friend Noor Hassan Qureshi, whose mother Yasmin Qureshi Bio coming soon... >> Read More... is also a friend of hers. Azaan always cherished his friendship with Noor. However Noor dreamt of becoming his wife. But as fate would have it, Azaan returns from London accompanied by the love of his life Shayra.

Razia Begum, however, in spite of her plans, decides to fulfill her son’s wishes announcing his engagement to Shayra. Meanwhile, Noor engaged to Faiz Hussain, a college friend of hers. Shayra slowly bonds with both Noor and Yasmin, who even asks Shayra to take Noor’s responsibility after she’s no more. Meanwhile, the two characters Asgar Mirza and Suraiya Asgar Mirza, try to create misunderstandings between Noor and Shayra in hopes of getting the family property, which eventually leads to Noor’s fiancé and mother’s death caused by Suraiya while Azaan and Shayra get married.

After the death of her closed ones, Noor blames Shayra as the murderer and even gets her arrested, and it’s revealed later that Noor seeks revenge by marrying Azaan. She even blackmails Shayra to divorce Azan. As Shayra promised to take care of Noor for her sake, Azan marries Noor but refuses to divorce Shayra. She conspires with Asgar and Suraiya to cause a rift between Azaan and Shayra throughout the series, but in the end realizing her folly, she apologizes and divorces Azaan.

Later another character arrives called Ghazala, who wanted to take the title of Bahu Begum and conspires with Asgar and Suraiya, but in the end all three of them are thrown out when the truth comes out.

The last villain who appears is a man named Adil who ruins the relationship of Shayra and Azan and even ends up kidnapping her and but in the end, after a number of thrilling events, it is found that it is Noor who tries to saves Shayra who is pregnant by now and ultimately as misfortunate as it is Adil ends up killing Shayra and the baby she carried.

Five years later, it is seen that Azaan has lost all of his properties and leads a miserable life still unable to believe that Shayra is no more. Razia is back from her coma, and eventually, with time Noor, who is now rich enough to buy the stuff at Begum Mahal, convinces Azaan that Shayra is dead. Azaan decides to move on and proposes to Noor, who accepts it happily, but just then a twist happens, and Shayra, who was presumed to be dead, makes a return.
