Plot
In a world where every person above 18 years of age has a superpower, the protagonist of this web series Jen, is the odd one out because a superpower is the one thing she lacks. Jen is a 25-year-old woman desperately waiting to get her superpowers. In the first season, we were introduced to a friend group of four, including Jen, Kash, Carrie, and Jizzlord. There were plenty of cliffhangers that the first season ended with, which made us curious to see how next season ends those cliffhangers. In the second season, Jizzlord finds out that he had a family in the past when a little boy at the grocery store points at him and says that he looks like his “

”, which leads him to discover that he has a family, and this complicates things between him and Jen. Ultimately, Kash has to choose between the two women. Jen also begins a new adventure where she starts her journey that should help her unlock her superpowers. She pays for a power discovery program where her coach is Doctor George. He acts as a sort of psychologist in this series. Still, the only difference is, he goes inside Jen’s mind quite literally, along with her, to help her identify any psychological blockages that could be preventing her superpowers from being released. Another major event in this season is that the two characters, Kash and Carrie, have broken up.
Star Performance
Actress Mairead Tyers has performed exceedingly well in the second season as well. Sofia Oxenham and Bilal Hasna have also performed well.
Analysis
Although the second season is just as entertaining as the first season, the humor aspect in the second season is lacking compared to the first. However, the creative and bizarre superpowers in this season make up for the lack of humor in it. It’s easy to tell that a lot of thought and creativity has gone into investing these bizarre yet intriguing superpowers that the characters have. The writing is witty and entertaining. The storyline for Carrie and Kash is intriguing in this second season and because it showed that people can still have unique deep platonic relationships and love each other profoundly without having to be in a romantic one.
