English Web Series Expats

Expats is an English web series that started streaming on Amazon Prime on 26^th January 2024. It is based on The Expatriates, written by Janice Y. K. Lee. It is a six-episode series.

Margaret and Clarke are husband and wife. She plans for his birthday party to bring their lives back to normalcy after a heartbreaking incident. Margaret invites Hilary Starr and her husband, David, to the party. They had a rift earlier. To make things smoother, she invites them. It is revealed that Mercy, Margaret and Hilary’s friend, is in an affair with David. They attended the party, and while returning, Hilary and David started arguing. In anger, David steps out of the car. Later, Margaret and Hilary go out to vent. When they return, they see police cars parked outside their building. They were informed about the elderly neighbour’s death. Later, Hilary goes to her apartment, but still can’t find David. Why didn’t he return?

Tiana Gowen, Bodhi Del Rosario, Ruby Ruiz, Amelyn Pardenilla, Blessing Mokgohloa, Flora Chan, Bonde Sham, Will Or, Lesley Chiang, Grace Wong, Kenneth Chan, and Maggie Lee are in the supporting cast.

Lulu Wang created and directed the series. Alex Weston composed the music. Lulu Wang, Daniele Melia, Nicole Kidman, Per Saari, Alice Bell, Stan Wlodkowski, and Theresa Park are the executive producers. Janice Y. K. Lee produced the series. Anna Franquesa-Solano cranked the camera, and Matthew Friedman and Alex O'Flinn edited the series.
