She comes from a middle-class family in a small town. Her family is strict and traditional. Pakeezah, unlike her family, is tolerant and broad-minded.

She is in love with Umair, and wants to marry him. Pakeezah’s family is strictly against her choice. They firmly refuse to let Pakeezah marry Umair due to their contrasting background. Pakeezah is deep in love and is stubborn about her decision. She plans to run away from home to marry Umair. After leaving home, she marries Umair who reveals that he has not informed his family about Pakeezah so he cannot take her home. Pakeezah is surprised by this. Umair promises to inform his family soon. Umair has a friend, Shan. Umair asks Shan’s help to let Pakeezah stay with him until he informs his family. Umair’s family wants him to get married soon. Umair had never informed anyone in his house about his girlfriend.

His family does not know about Pakeezah. Umair can never build up the courage to talk to his family. Meanwhile, his family fixes his marriage with her cousin, Bushra. His wedding day is inching nearer, still, Umair hesitates to talk to his family. Finally, he gets married to Bushra because he does not want to break his parent’s hearts. It comes as a shock to Pakeezah and Shan. Shan, being Umair’s friend, berates him for breaking Pakeezah’s heart. Pakeezah is shattered. Umair somehow convinces her that he will leave Bushra soon. He divides his time between both Bushra and Pakeezah. Bushra soon comes to know about Pakeezah. She conspires to break Pakeezah and Umair’s marriage. By now, Pakeezah realizes her worth and feels humiliated. She regrets her reckless decision to leave her home. Bushra continues meddling between them. Pakeezah wants Umair to accept her as the wife with his family present.
