Jai Malhar is based on the mythological series, Khandoba, which is a reincarnation of Lord Shiva. It was one of the longest-running serials of Zee Marathi. It aired from September 2014 from Monday to Saturday at 7 pm. It restored the serial ‘Tu Tithe Me’. After running effectively on Zee Marathi, it was also dubbed in Hindi as well as in Tamil. It was the first show of Marathi to be dubbed in international language i.e. Thai as Jay Martand on Zee Bing. The serial is based on the legendary character, Lord Martanda Bhairava aka Khandoba.

It shows the courage, strength, power, benevolence of Khandoba. Khandoba was called Malhar and worshipped in the whole of Maharashtra. Khandoba holds a very different place for the Maharashtrian people. Devotees of Malhar chant “Yelkot Yelkot Jai Malhar". The most famous place where Malhar/ Khandoba is worshipped is Jejuri. Every year lakhs of people worship him and comes to his shrine. Lord Khandoba is symbolized as the God of superpower, excellence, love, etc. He is like a superhero for the younger generation. It is produced by Mahesh Kothare and Adinath Kothare. The location of the serial where it is shot is, Mumbai. The running time of the serial was 22 minutes.
