Boys Over Flowers is a Korean series based on Japan’s Shojo Manga series of the same name. The series is also addressed as Boys Before Flowers. The series got telecasted in 2009 on KBS2. The 25-episodes series has the star cast of Ku Hye-sun, Lee Min-ho, Kim Hyun-Joong, Kim Bum, Kim Joon, Kim So-Eun, Im Ye-jin, Ahn Suk-hwan, Han Chae-young, Lee Si-young, Kim Hyun-Joo, Lee Hye-young, Lee Min-jung, Park Ji-bin, Kim Ki-bang and Jung Ho-bin. Jeon Ki-sang directed the series.

Kang Hee-soo runs Shinhwa Group, the biggest conglomerates in South Korea. She is very strict. She has a son Gu Jun-Pyo and he leads F4, a popular boys group in Shinhwa High School. Boys from rich families, Yoon Ji-hu, So Yi-Jung and Song Woo-bin, are in the group and are Gu Jun-Pyo's friends. These boys bullied a poor boy, who Geum Jan-di saved. Geum Jan-di is from a normal family that runs a dry cleaning business. She has a younger brother. After F4 boys bullied a poor, Geum Jan-di hates them. The leader of the gang, Gu Jun-Pyo, bullies her, but Geum Jan-di manages that and stands strong. This impresses Gu Jun-Pyo and he falls in love with her. But, Geum Jan-di is in love with Yoon Ji-hu and he is in love with Min Seo-hyun. Later, everything falls in place and Geum Jan-di accepts Gu Jun-Pyo. But, his mother couldn’t accept this, as Geum Jan-di doesn't match their status. She later arranges Gu Jun-Pyo's wedding with a royal heiress. But, fate had different plans. Gu Jun-Pyo meets with an accident and forgets Geum Jan-di. Although she tries to make him recall his memories, he couldn’t. Geum Jan-di falls into a pool in front of Gu Jun-Pyo and at that moment, he calls her by name and they unite. After a few years, he returns from America as a successful businessman. He proposes Geum Jan-di marry him and the story ends on a happy note.
