Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat’ is a historical drama series, broadcasted on Colors TV. It was written and created by Ashok Banker, an author and screenwriter. It was directed by ‘ Prasad Gavandi’ and produced by Abhimanyu Raj Singh and Rupali Singh, under the banner of Contiloe Entertainment. The ensemble cast includes Manoj Joshi, Pallavi Subhash, Siddharth Nigam, Suzanne Bernert, Prinal Oberoi, Sameer Dharmadhikari and many others. The serial was premiered on February 2nd, 2015 and is still on air.

Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat is a story about the life of Ashoka, an Indian Emperor during the Maurya Dynasty who governed the entire Indian subcontinent. It started with Chanakya (Manoj Joshi) who had a dream about Chandragupta Maurya, in which he appeared as a lion and told him about the danger that is about to happen to the Mauryan Empire. Samrat Bindusara, the younger son of Chandragupta from Durdhara, is governing the Mauryan Empire. Later, the story will revolve around the life of young Ashoka, (the son of Bindusara and Dharma) who are known as Samrat and is being guided by Chanakya in hard situations.

On the other hand, Helena (the step mother of Bindusara played by Suzanne Bernert) is playing a game that conquers the whole empire and wanted to throw Samrat out so that her soncan govern the Mauryan Empire. At the same time, Samrat’s wives also want their sons to be the next Samrat of the kingdom. The first wife of Bindusara, Mahani Charumitra is expert in black magic, while the second wife, Shubhadrangi (Pallavi Subhash) has knowledge in medicines.

His third wife, Noor Khurasan, had an affair with Justin. She is the daughter of the Mauryan Empire’s Commander in Chief. Samrat’s last wife is Rani Subhrasi, the mother of Rajkumar Drupath. The first son of Bindusara is Rajkumar Sushima, who hated Ashoka, his unknown step-brother. Chanakya and Radhagupta, along with their disciples protect the Magadha thrones against the evils and pervert of Helena , and the other rivals of Magadha. Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat has a team made up of 500 people and the series was shot in Kerala, Karjat, Mumbai and Jaisalmer. They also recreate Buzkashi which means goat dragging sport.
