Plot

Raja Mannar lives in Khansaar. He wants his son Varadharaja Mannar to be his successor. But, his people don’t want Varadharaja to beautify the throne and decide to kill both father and son with the help of Russian and Serbian troupes. Deva lives in Tinsukia with his mother. He is a mechanic by profession. His life was peaceful until Aadhya entered. Aadhya is being tracked by a gang, and they enter the city where Deva lives. Soon, Deva finds out that those goons came for Aadhya, as directed by Varadharaja, his childhood friend. Why did they come for Aadhya? Did Deva save her? What is his response to his friend Varadharaja? All these questions are answered in the rest of the story.

Star Performance

Prabhas’ action avatar is neat, and he fits the role well. Though his dialogues are minimal, the dialogue delivery is excellent. Prithviraj excels well in his role. His body language and dialogue delivery are perfect. This is the first time Prithvi dubbed Telugu for his role, and he did justice to it. Shruti is quite decent in her limited role. Jagapathi Babu and Bobby Simha did their best, as usual. The rest of the stars did what is required of them.

Analysis

When the film was announced with a huge star cast, everyone thought that all the biggies would get a solid role. Yes, of course. But, their screen presence is very limited, including that of Shruti Haasan and Sriya Reddy. Though the characters of Easwari Rao, Tinnu, John Vijay, and Saptagiri add value to the story, the audience loves to see them in extended roles. The BGM by Ravi Basrur increases the tension of the story and is a huge plus point to the film. The visuals are good, and the editing is better in the second half. The film has action scenes but lacks comedy and other masala items expected by the fans of the complete action entertainers.

Verdict

If you are a fan of Prabhas and Prithviraj, then it is a film for you. If you want to watch a complete masala entertainer, then you might be disappointed slightly.
