Plot

Harathi, a simple girl from a conservative family, falls in love with Hari, who belongs to a different caste. They both struggle to convince Harathi’s father to accept their relationship as they are willing to marry, which unfolds lots of drama and comedy when Hari comes up with a humourous plan to impress Harathi’s conservative father.

Star performance

The principal leads of the movie, Rakesh Varre and Gargeyi Yallapragada, as Hari and Harathi, respectively, do phenomenal work. The actors are brilliant, and you won’t feel bored throughout the film. Rakesh’s humourous character is commendable, and he delivers a mature performance.

Gargeyi Yallapragada’s freshness charms the viewer. She, too, gives a subtle performance, and her performance holds innocence, anger, and emotions as appropriate as her character demands.

Vamsi Raj Nekkanti’s acting was also good. He gives life to the character of Harathi’s father, being a typical conservative father that most people can relate to.

Analysis

This movie legit talks about social evils like the caste system in a satirical manner and makes us laugh at the couple’s misery. Though the film has a decent premise, somewhere, the narration lacks the spark, which drops the pace at regular intervals. The music of this film is wholesome and fresh. This movie has drama, romance, and comedy in proper facets, as nothing looks too much. The couple makes you attached to the film as their acting skills won’t bore you. D.P Ghani and K Prasanna, in supporting roles, did make the movie wholesome. The love scenes between the lead pair are written well.

This type of movie helps in modifying the nature of society. It shows people the perspective of those who are suffering because of status quo. The rigidity should be questioned, is the message of this movie.

What’s there?

  • Everyone did a fine job in acting.
  • The cinematography is up to the mark.
  • It has a good storyline and is based on several social issues like patriarchal society, caste system, taboos that people face concerning relationships, etc.
  • The comedy delivery is commendable, and executed as it has to be in romantic comedy movies.

What’s not there?

  • The movie seemed bit lengthy.
  • It could have been made shorter.
  • Some scenes felt repetitive.
  • The first half looks a bit dragged, but the second half is nuanced and engaging.

Verdict

It is a fantastic movie with brilliant acting and scriptwriting, and the direction was on point; a must-watch and a message-oriented film.
