Plot
A young man and woman from different communal groups fall in love with each other. How their family and societal pressures treat them is the core plot.

Analysis
Mayamma’s plot is done and dusted before years. It didn’t have anything unique. Some films may have similar plots, but their screenplay would have been different with some interesting scenes. Even that’s not seen in Mayamma. The film takes us to the early 80s when these kinds of films were seen with huge interest, as these plots were not so common then. Even the actors are not given the liberty to emote freely. The writing limits their performances and the actors have done what they can do. Over dramatic scenes irk the audience, who love watching a natural movie. The cinematography and editing are fine. The music travels with the script. If a film is shot in a period when it doesn’t have any sync, how can one expect it to be successful?
