Plot
Set in the 1950s, it tells the story of an empathetic prison officer who stays in a bungalow with five prisoners who were charged with different crimes and his experiments to reform them. What happens next? Does he get successful? The rest of the film speaks about it.
Star Performance
The film stars Dhyan Sreenivasan in the nominal role, who did a stunning job as Jailer Shantaram. Divya Pillai, Unni Raja, and Sreejith Ravi pulled off their characters. All the actors have given their best performance.
Analysis
Based on a true story, a bit of a slow-paced thriller film it is. Jailer Shantharam experiments with his real-life incidents on some inmates with criminal charges. Considering the hardships he faced at that time, he encounters obstacles along the way. If we talk about the music and soundtracks, it gave goosebumps, and its blend with the cinematography gave this film an extra edge. Mahadevan Thampi captures the beauty of Gandhi Graman, and the costume design of this movie helps to understand the era of 1957 properly with rustic music by Riyas Payolli. It felt that the filmmaker was attempting hard to prove that goodness and hope are the only virtues needed to win over evil, but practically, this might sound too crude. Despite this impassive idea, Dhyaan looks good as a reformist jailer. All the actors brought to the table what was needed.

The film isn’t very catchy; the story is inspiring, but the direction and the screenplay didn’t go well. The first half might disappoint the audience. If you focus on the goods, it can be a good one-time watch film.
