The movie centers around two characters played by the actor Soubin Lallapan and Aneez. No, they are not the brothers, but yes, they are the duplicates. One is a villager trapped in the orthodox society, and the other is a gangster with power. There are good performances, music, and full-on entertainment. Production of the film is under the Straight Line Straight line TV show was made in the Malayalam la >> Read More... banner by Sudheer VK Bio coming soon... >> Read More... and Manu Valiyaveettil. The film empowers people with exceptional thinking skills through the effects of spirit and spiritual fights within a society.

Plot

Lalappan is a villager, blessed with unconventional thinking, and he always suggests the other side of the coin, which nobody likes. Thus, he is opposed to all things happening in the village. People separate him, and his family forces him to visit tantric and take medications. His different logical thoughts are considered abnormal and supernatural, which gives him the name Djinn in the village. Going through all these traumas, Lalappan decides to run away from the village and join his friend, who is setting up the business of beedi making.

Aneez here is a gangster killing people, smuggling gold, and bribing. Soubin plays the character well with anger, non-humanity, and cracking jokes.

The story takes turns when these two characters face each other and when Aneez tries to use Lallapan for his bad deeds. Some scenes make you remember the last gangster and action movies.

The story is not picture-perfect, and the characters are interesting, but still, the movie leaves you remembering the leads and praising the acting skills.

Star performances

Soubin, Lalappan, and Aneez steal all the limelight. He has played his roles at his best, recollecting the memories of all action film heroes till now. But here, the hero fights differently with his mind's power to think unusually. Though the storyline seems familiar, you will still find different situations to catch up with the movie.

Shathy Balachandran plays the character of Safa beautifully. She is stuck in a marriage, and Lalappan helps her escape. Leona Lishoy, as Tara Koshi, an air hostess, is smart as a gangster supporter to help in smuggling with him.

Some other lead actors, including Shine Tom Chacko, Nishant Sagar, Sabumon Abdsamad, Sharaf U Dheen, KPAC Lalitha, and Bhanumati Payyanur, leave a significant impression on the film and make it watchable and enjoyable.

Analysis

Making such a movie is no different; Siddharth Bharathan could have worked more with Rajesh Gopinath on the storyline. The direction for Soubin and his character is well appreciated. How he portrays Lalappan and his unconventional thinking power stuck between the societal norms of the society crafted well. The film challenges why society is harsh on mental illness and leaves the audience to think and bring changes for the good. Soubin, with a topic of social impression and diversion of thoughts, presents two diverse roles. One should watch the film to understand what still holds in society.

Though he is supposed to be possessed by some bad spirit, he is good for business ideas. Soubin has lived the character well by acting mentally and physically. The story is long, and some parts are lengthy, which can test your patience to finish the movie.

Sidharth Bharathan has tried well with the direction, but the story is not well written to bind the audience. The script is well supported by cinematography, music, and background audio.

There are many other supporting cast members, but few have left their impressions praisefully. The late KPAC Lalitha plays the role of Sidharth’s mother in a wheelchair. The two have shared touching moments and emotional chemistry, and Lalappan's mother, played by Bhanumathi Payyannur Bio coming soon... >> Read More... , shows the same remarkable love for her son.

What’s there?

• Santhy and Soubin deliver amazing performances.

• Soubin, as Djinn and Aneez, are two interesting characters in the story.

• Pillai's background music and songs uplift the movie’s mood.

What’s not there?

• The movie represents serious issues, so don’t expect romance and comedy. Some comic moments were created for the character Aneez.

• The movie is a bit slow in the first part of the film.

Verdict

Director Sidharth has put in the effort, which is visible in the film. The direction, especially with Soubin and his character, is fantastic. Soubin’s fans must watch this film for his hard work. It is a big-budget movie, one can expect grand sets. It is a complete entertainment film with good cinematography, music, and performance. The story is enjoyable to watch. Rest, it forms its grip on the audience.
