Plot
Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar revolves around the tumultuous relationship of Mickey and Tinni. Mickey and his friend Manu work as a breakup consultant and assist people in destroying their relationships. Mickey meets Tinni at Manu’s bachelor party in Spain and is allured by her. Tinni too is attracted to Mickey and soon they two hit it off. They two fall head over heels for each other and eventually introduce each other to the families.
Soon enough, their wedding preparations begin, but Tinni realizes that she doesn’t want to marry Mickey. So, she contacts the breakup consultant who unknowingly turns out to be her boyfriend. Being completely unaware of Mickey’s presence, Tinni says that she doesn’t want to marry him because she feels there is too much interference from his family. She doesn’t want to live with his family and craves their personal space. Mickey hesitates to leave his family and decides it’s best to end their relationship. They drift apart, but their paths collide again in Manu’s baby shower.

Star Performances
Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar is a heartwarming movie that has become a hit owing to its fantabulous cast. Shraddha Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor deliver incredible performance that leaves the audience in awe. It is refreshing to see Dimple Kapadia on screen after so many years. Anubhav Singh Bassi provides the much-needed comic relief in the film.
Analysis
Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar can easily confused for an average rom-com, but it's so much more than that. It dwells on the issues that modern couples face and struggles in overcoming them. It has an engaging storyline that keeps viewers intrigued, but the ending is quite predictable. The initial half seems forced and there is no chemistry between the couple. As the movie progresses, the spark between the couple is evident and fun to watch.
It mainly falters when it tries to create sentimental scenes with a tinge of comedy. The presence of some characters seems pointless and just spoils this cinematic experience. All in all, just like any other movie, this piece has its own set of flaws and merits. These traits somehow balance each other and create a humor-filled romantic thriller.
