The film features songs written by Jubin Nautiyal, Mithoon, Tanishk Bagchi, Vishal Mishra, and Abhijit Vaghani. The movie is a remake of the 2019 Tamil film Thadam, which came out. The main plot of the movie revolves around a murder investigation that goes awry when the authorities find two suspects who resemble each other.

Plot

Arjun Sehgal (Aditya Roy Kapoor), the main suspect in the crime, is taken into custody by the police after a man named Akash Sardana is discovered dead in his home. When the police detain Sooraj, who appears to be Arjun's twin, the case takes a dramatic turn. It soon becomes clear that they are both twins. It appears to be a standard Bollywood film featuring twin brothers at first. It takes a dramatic turn when mystery and excitement are introduced. The twins are not very close because of their difficult family history. Sooraj rescues Arjun after finding out about his arrest. The narrative centers on the twins banding together and using deception and mind games to steer Shivani Mathur, the officer in command (Mrunal Thakur), in the wrong way. With their dishonesty, both brothers continue to draw out the case. They were released as a consequence of the court procedures after six months. Even when the court finds one of them guilty, they are unsure of the true offender. Thus, neither of them receives a penalty. Following a confrontation in which both Arjun and Sooraj confess their sins, the ending takes place. A flashback clip revealing that Akash had slain and sexually assaulted Arjun's fiancée Jahnvi comes next. Subsequently, Arjun gives Sooraj the keys to his home and departs to reside abroad.

Star Performance

Mrunal Thakur’s role as a young enthusiastic police officer is a delight. Aseem Arora who wrote the screenplay for the movie deserves a huge round of applause for his creativity.

Analysis

The movie is off to a terrific start; a seemingly intense sequence immediately grabs the audience's attention. The movie moves at an extremely slow pace and the scenes don't connect. It then seems a bit too fast-paced, with a different event happening in each scene and initially no apparent relationship between them. The movie seemed rushed in its opening scenes. The second section, with all of its turns and turns, is successful in stimulating the viewers' curiosity. The Whole second act of the film has audiences on the edge of their seats. Those who have viewed Badlapur will have a hazy notion of the plot of the film. The ending however is not very unpredictable.

What’s There?

  • The storyline of the movie is attractive.
  • Engaging script and screenplay.
  • The climax scenes are well shot.
  • Aditya Roy’s performance is great.

What’s Not There?

  • Mrunal Thakur’s character lacked aggression.
  • There was room for improvement in the story.
  • Some scenes didn’t link with the ones that followed.

Verdict

Both Mrunal and Aditya Roy Kapoor have a long way to go in their acting careers, despite their successes thus far. Vedika Pinto did a great job meeting the character's needs. The film does live up to its promises of drama, intrigue, and excitement. Its climactic scenes grab the attention of the audience. Even if it didn't do well at the box office, the film is still worth seeing once.
