. It justifies the first word of the title ‘War’.
Plot:
The situation here is that the humans and the Apes are in an open war. The leader of the Apes community is Caesar who believes in a promised rumored land where there are food and water in abundance. The conflict between the Apes and the humans, who were led by the Colonel, made the Apes suffer from unthinkable losses. The humans have Caesar’s former followers as their servants which enrages him. The humans are also deeply disturbed about treating a virus which is stripping off their power to command. It is a war movie, where Caesar and his disciples go across the country for a face-off with the humans who in turn want to enslave all of them.
Analysis:
War of the Planet of the Apes, has its purpose to serve. It is a straightforward and engrossing film. It has been one of the most high-quality, drama-thriller in recent memory, not forgetting Dunkirk. Star Performance: The film features,

as the Colonel. Both the actors have done a splendid job with their roles and have portrayed both the Apes and the humans very strongly. Serkis’s role as the Ape in this film has left the audience spellbound and buzzing to vote for the Oscars this year. Andy Serkis and Terry Notary have been in all the three movies.
What’s there?
1. The little girl in this film was named after the character in the first and second films, Linda Harrison.
2. The war setting was brilliant, and so was the music.
3. What worked is the special effects and the humor.
What’s not there?
1. The location was not extensive, just showed a particular place in San Francisco as Caesar’s base.
2. The ending was made very rough, with the painful death of Caesar, wherein we expected a happy ending.
Verdict:
Matt Reeves’ War of the Planet of Apes is one of the best installments and is the first character-driven drama along with a thriller plot. The film gives out a decent message and you would like a movie like this to stay awake. It certainly is a must watch the film, along with its previous releases in the franchise.
