Ned Rifle is an American drama film starring Liam Aiken, Aubrey Plaza, Parker Posey Parker Posey, popularly known as 'Queen of the >> Read More... in main roles. This film is the final installment in the trilogy series of the earlier two films HENRY FOOL and FAY GRIM.

Plot: This film follows the events of the previous film, Fay Grim (Parker Posey) has been booked for a murder and taken into prison. While her son’s (Liam Aiken) custody is given to a devout Christian family. While he is in good hands, Ned is fuming and seething about her mother’s poor condition and because she has arrived at this condition due to his father’s shrewd and wicked plan he decides to hunt him down and have his revenge.

As the boy grows into a man he comes to know that his mother is being moved to a new prison, a teary conversation between him and his mother makes his resolve for avenging her mother becomes more powerful as he goes out in search of his father to kill him and finally have his revenge.

Analysis: Ned Rifle, unlike its predecessors, is quite interesting and emotionally tied up. Built on previous movie’s events but having ample turns this movie is worth watching. The screenplay is quite apt, and the cinematography looks into the grim side of this movie effectively providing an insight to the distraught lives of a mother and her son whose peaceful lives are ruptured and ripped apart by their own man. The only thing that pinches here is the sudden quietness of the scenes which should have been explosive but instead, prove to be a silent hill. But if we keep these things aside there is a constant energy which produces adrenaline in the minds of viewers who would subside all of the shortcomings of this movie for this and enjoy the movie which runs smoothly towards its conclusion.

Star Performances: Parker Posey and Liam Aiken are the genuine star performers in this movie. How a son and mother would be in their hard times is aptly portrayed in this movie. The emotional quotient these two share in this movie is worth watching which might make your heart heavy.

What's There?

• Interesting plot and screenplay.

• The emotional bond between mother and her son sends you to tears and smile all at the same.

• Decisive conclusion.

• Actors play their parts well.

What's Not There?

• Takes up the negativities of the prequels.

• Sudden quietness in few scenes.

Verdict: Ned Rifle is a must-watch for those who have seen the past two movies of this trilogy. Also if you are newcomer you can witness the emotional drama which is in abundance in this movie, so yes give it a shot once.
