A24.  The movie stars Menashe Lustig , Ruben Niborski, Yoel Weisshaus and Meyer Schwartz. The chief cinematography is done by Yoni Brook and Joshua Z. Weinstein. The movie is edited by Scott Cummings. The music and background scores are given by Aaron Martin and Dag Rosenqvist.

Plot

Menashe, the protagonist of the movie, is a widowed Jewish man who is willing to win the custody of his son, Rieven. He is unable to do so, as he has to remarry to provide an excellent home to the son, according to a rule in the community. Menashe is reluctant to remarry because his first marriage was not a happy one. The movie then revolves around the plot of whether Menashe can get the custody of his ten-year old son. The story is a beautiful tale of a father's love for his child and determination to keep his child with him.

Star performances

Menashe Lustig as Menashe has done absolute justice to his role. He has perfectly showcased all the emotions of hopelessness, love and determination. Ruben Niborski as Rieven is impressive as a child artist in the film. He encases the exact emotions of innocence and love for his father.Yoel Weisshaus as Eizik is amazing in the frame and fits perfectly into his role. Meyer Schwartz as Rabbi and  Hershy Fishman as Zalman are excellent in supporting roles and show perfect chemistry with the other actors.

Analysis

The movie has a very unique and thoughtful plot to it. The idea and presentation of the movie and its screenplay are amazingly set and makes the audience ponder on the theme. The framework and screenplay is nuanced and beautifully comprehended. The actors have done an excellent job of portraying their roles finely. The movie may leave a few sections of the audience perplexed about the ending. But the unobvious sequences of the film in the second half make the audience wonder about what could happen next.

The movie is a worthwhile movie that makes you ponder about life situations and happenings. The movie explores all aspects and emotions of the protagonist in an exciting tale. The film is undoubtedly a worthwhile watch.  The movie gives surreal cultural insights and experiences that may connect the audience. It is a beautiful tale of a father-son relationship that looks endearing on screen. Even though some sequences lack the charm and may feel tedious to a few audiences, the movie still outperforms the benchmark of typical drama movies lucidly.
