Plot: A little boy of eight is struggling each day with his war against cancer. With all the hope in his heart he writes letters to his friend, God. When these letter reach the hands of a substitute postman, things become a testament of faith and goodness.
What you may like:
1. The way that the story is presented and played on screen is beautiful and mesmerizing. The cinematography of the film seems to be one of the great things about this movie that will enhance the experience of watching it.
2. It is also a rather unique way that the narrative has structured itself making it very interesting and engaging. This kind of structure moves away from the monotony of filming and presenting a movie.
3. All the actors have done a beautiful job at playing their roles out and doing complete justice with them. It is because of this acting that has been done with immense conviction that they become so very relatable and believable.
4. The movie evokes some really genuine and intense emotions due to high building of various sentiments among characters and story.
What you may dislike:
1. There are times in the movie where it seems far too emphatic on various religious preaching which makes it repetitive sometimes. This monotony in the narration of the movie makes it hard to sit through at times.
2. This movie like any other average movie doesn't have much originality and sticks to the various cliches that are there in any book.
3. One of the most problematic point of this movie is the length that it has. The long hours that you have to sit through in order to watch the whole movie drains your patience and it becomes fairly difficult to make it to the end.
Verdict: It is indeed a beautiful movie. If you decide to watch, make sure you do it with all the patience that you have.
