Plot
Simone is a single mother and lives with her disabled daughter in London. One night she goes out with her friends and meets a stranger, Raymond. They instantly click and feel something special. Will they listen to their hearts? Or will their past prevent them from being together?
Star Performance
The main lead’s performance in the movie was a major reason for its success. Michaela as a single mother played her role effortlessly. She portrayed the emotions, doubt, guilt, and responsibilities of a woman and a mother very well. Arinze is an ex-con, a son, and most importantly a lover determined to win her heart, taking his character to the next level.
AnalysisÂ
Simone is a very confused character. Since her previous relationship didn’t go well she is very careful in taking the next decision. On the other hand, Raymond has a painful past and he doesn’t know whether he can put that aside and start a new life. We also have some parallel storylines about the daughter, her father, and Raymond’s stalker which makes this film even more interesting.
What’s There?
• The London setting in the movie is a treat to our eyes.
• The color tones and background score enhance the mood.
What’s Not There?
• The background stories do not make any sense so the storyline is a bit weak.
Verdict
This movie is a new take on Hollywood love stories and and it is a breathe of fresh air.
