Plot Antibirth shows Lou getting sick and showing signs of pregnancy as she begins to fall ill. However, the reason for this is something she cannot understand when she has been with anybody for a long time. Lou’s friend Sadie believes that Lou does not wish to tell her the truth but a stranger, Lorna believes in her. Lou had always been a hard-partying person.

Things start taking a turn when she experiences different and new things happening to her. With increasing news of kidnappings and disappearances in town, there is something that they are missing out on. Lou’s visions increase and the grip on reality keeps changing. What happens at the end is a big climax.

Analysis Antibirth is more of a horror film with a lot more to it. It is like a mixture of certain movies together, but none work together. Director and writer Danny Perez has tried to put forward a lot of things in the film, but ultimately it becomes a mess. The film goes everywhere, in all directions making it more frustrating, uninteresting, and dull. The story basically is hampered by certain ideas that are uselessly added to the film. Had these not been present, Antibirth would definitely be an absolute horror thriller but now it is a sham that has everything in it needed to make it a mess.

Adding to that, the direction is also not up to the mark clearly requiring a more experienced one to make a film work. The cinematography is by Rudolf Blahacek and music is by Eric Copeland and Jonathan J. K. Kanakis. The film shows a lot of things that can be done especially by the director but the problem lies that they are not brought together.

Star Performances Natasha Lyonne Natasha Lyonne is a very famous and well-known act >> Read More... plays the role of Lou, Chloe Sevigny plays Sadie, and Meg Tilly plays Lorna. Natasha, who also serves as the producer, puts up a particularly intense performance in the role of Lou who turns to be the one affected by the drug and to find out everything about it. She takes the role of a deeper approach as the girl who gets into drugs and won’t come out. Her major role comes in the latter parts of the film but in the initial parts, he becomes rather intentionally grating with the usage of drugs.

Chloe is Sadie who does not support Liu believing that she has lied to her whereas the complete stranger Lorna is the one who understands Lou. The performance on the part of the actors is pretty acceptable except in certain areas where it turns to be highly exaggerated.

What’s there? Antibirth is interesting to watch which adds to the fact that it is a horror film. Adding to that, the film does definitely offer a lot of comedy and fun quotient, but that is surely not enough to appreciate the film.

What’s not there? Antibirth is like a mixture of a lot of things. It shows how new the direction is and the technicalities that are needed to make a film like this work. The idea is good, but it is not implemented well.

Verdict The film receives mixed reviews. It may be interesting for some while total thumbs down most. In general, there are a lot of aspects that could be better, and therefore it lacks a lot.
