Malayalam super hit movie “Charlie,” which bagged eight awards in the Kerala State Film Awards, is out of the
National Film Awards
race. It is not included in the participants list, as the team was unaware of the submission date. The authorities said that they could not include it on the list, as the submission date is already over. The team should have sent the movie to the awards committee, even before the announcement of the state awards. Remake rights of Charlie has been purchased by Tamil, Bengali and Marathi filmmakers. It is interesting to know that nearly 33 Malayalam movies have been included in the final list of National Awards, which is the largest number in National Awards’ history.
