Jr. NTR might have managed to successfully break the SS Rajamouli curse, but he couldn’t stop two classics from continuing to receive love from the masses!
Despite the mammoth release of ‘Devara : Part 1’, both the movies have refused to slow down, despite lesser screens. ‘Stree 2’ is about to cross 50 days of its premiere, and has earned a mind boggling 616.51 crores in net domestic collections, despite earning 0.85 crores on its 47th day, i.e. Monday. However, Amar Kaushik’s movie is now the highest grossing Hindi movie of all time, well above SRK’s ‘Jawan’, which collected 582.15 crores from the net domestic collections.
On the other hand, ‘Tumbbad’ is all set to cross the 30 crore mark very soon. This comes when the film has been re-released after more than five years! Before this movie, only the Tamil movie, ‘Ghilli’, managed to cross this mark with its re-release this year!
‘Stree 2’ is expected to wrap up between 620 to 625 crores, while ‘Tumbbad 2’ is expected to wrap up below 35 crores, before movies like ‘Vettaiyan’, ‘Jigra’ and ‘Vicky Vidya aur Woh Wala Video’ take over.
Meanwhile, ‘Devara’ has collected almost 34 crores from its Hindi dubbed versions. Considering the initial reviews, this is certainly not a bad collection, and the total worldwide revenue for Devara is more than 300 crores, which means that Koratala Siva’s multilingual venture will at least end up as an above average grosser, if nothing else.
