Pritpal Singh Betab is an Indian poet prominent in Urdu poetry. Betab was born on 26 July 1949; in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. He graduated from the Government Gandhi Memorial Science College, Jammu. He did his master's degree in Political science and LLB from Jammu University. Betab has then served as an IAS officer after joining Jammu and Kashmir government. He has achieved enormous on the grounds of poetry. His pen name is Btaab, [a recognized poet in India. His first collection of poetry is Pesh Kyma, published in the year, 1982. It received the Best Book Award from Jammu and Kashmir Cultural academy. His second collection of poetry is Saraab-Dar-Saraab, published in 1984.
His third published poetry is Khud Rung, printed in the year 1995. Betab works Nazam's translated English version is Third Strand. This book got published in the writing workshop, Calcutta. His Ghazal collection is entitled Cactus Aur Gulab, published in 1999. Betab's autobiographical work, Mere Hisse Ki Duniya, was released during a function in 2021 to honor the author.
