Punjabi Singer Nirmal Sidhu

Nirmal Sidhu is an Indian Punjabi singer, music director, and composer. He was born and raised in the village Tehna, district Faridkot. He belongs to a middle-class Jatt family. He attended University and took a Masters of Arts (MA) degree in Vocal and Instrumental studies. He lived near Gurdwara, where he got inspired by listening to Gurbani/ Kirtan. He has been interested in music since childhood. When he was twelve, Master Naginder Singh Chahal inspired & encouraged him to learn more music and educate himself. In 1987, his debut song was broadcasted on Door darshan, Jallandhar. This song made him emerge himself in the field of commercial music. Also, he was asked to perform at Lux Zee Cine Award in 2000. Therefore, his son Nav Sidhu has also launched himself as a singer and music director. Since then, Nirmal Sidhu has been composing several audios, video albums, and television serials as a singer & music composer.

He is the first artist of Punjab who performed live in Bollywood. From 1982 to 1991, Nirmal Sidhu taught music at Baba Farid Sangeet Academy, Faridkot. He marked his professional singing career with the album titled “Tere Darsham Karkey,” which went on to be a successful hit. Since, he has released a further six albums, including “Nai Jeena,” which was released worldwide. As well as his solo work, Nirmal Sidhu has been involved in several collaborations. From 2000 t 2003, he opened his own Music Academy named “Rabab Music Institue,” Jallandhar.

Nirmal Sidhu has also received several awards, including the 2006 Watano Door TV Award Toronto, Canada; the 2004 Punjab Ratan Award, Ramgharia College, Ludhiana; the 2002 Mohd. Rafi Award by Mohd. Rafi Memorial Society, Amritsar; 2001 M.S. Randhawa Adgar Award by M. Randhawa Yadgar Committee; the 2000 Klan Munch Sirjna Fardikot Award, and many more. Though he has twenty-five years of experience in this field. Under his direction, an immense range of hit albums has covers. Besides this, he used to promote active participation towards Global Warming & Climate Change. He connected strongly to Punjab and considered that it was his duty to bring awareness amongst people about the impact of Global Warming & Climate Change on Punjab.
