Sonika Roy is a well-known model and actress in the Odia film industry. She was born on 13 September 1994 in Bhubhnesh, Odisha. She did her schooling at Kendra Vidyalaya and Chandaka College in Bhubaneswar. She attained a bachelor's degree from IGNOU. The initial start of her career began in Modelling. In 2014, she did a training in Modelling from Tiara Training Institute, Pune. Her dedication shined when she was one of the finalists in Femina Miss India in 2015 and 2017. She was the first runner-up of Miss Odisha India in 2015.
In 2015, Roy debuted in the Odia film industry through Rangila Baba. Her co-actor was Chandan Kar. She became a spotlight from a reality show, Kia Heba Mo Heroine Season – 2. Roy received the Best Debut award for this movie. Besides acting, she is the brand ambassador of Sawdust Masala and Lions International. In 2017, she received the Best Inspirational Women's Award.
