Vishram Bedekar is a Marathi-language writer and film director from India. Bedekar was born in Amravati on 13th August 1906. He went to Nagpur for post-graduate studies after finishing his college degree in Amravati. He was attracted to English literature and theatre in college. In the 1930s, he relocated to Pune. He married Malati Bedekar, a famous Marathi writer and an inspiring feminist. Vishram Bedekar was a Marathi-language writer and film director from India. Bedekar wrote several plays about the emotional and intellectual conflict between Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Gopal Ganesh Agarkar, including Brahma Kumari, a play with contemporary relevance, Naro Wa Kunjaro Wa, Waje Paul Apule, and Tilak Ani Agarkar. Bedekar studied cinematography in the United Kingdom. He directed several Marathi and Hindi films. Thakiche Lagna, Satyache Prayog, Vasudeo Balwant, Naradnardi, Krushnarjun Yuddha, Chool Ani Mool, Ramshastri, and Pahila Palna are a few notable films. His autobiography, Ek Zhaad Ani Don Pakshi (A Tree and Two Birds), was published in 1984 and won the Sahitya Akademi Award the following year.
