Girish R. Jambhalikar was born on the 6th of July, 1986. He lives in Pune, Maharashtra. Girish is a writer, director, cinematographer and part of the camera and electrical department of the Marathi film industry. He completed his schooling from Modern High School, Pune. He completed his Masters in Communication Studies, Cinematography and Video Production from Pune University. He studied Electronic Cinematography from Film & Television Institute of India, Pune, Maharashtra. As a cinematographer, Girish has worked on a short film Mayat (2018) which was screened in the New York Film Festival and also received a National Award.
He has also worked in Bade Abbu (2019) as Director of Photography, Mhorkya (2020), Steering (2021), Vartul: A Vicious Circle (2022), Unlock Zindagi (2023), Global Aadgaon (2023), Institute of Pavtology (2024), Firastya (2020) and Soorma as the Director of Photography. Girish worked in several films as a part of Camera and Electrical department including Cycle (2014), a short film as the assistant cameraman, The Quest (2017), Redu as chief assistant cinematographer, Kaagar (2019), Samaira (2022) and Nirmal Enroute. Girish was the director and the writer of the short film Untitled Soundclip in 2021.
