Madhu Kamikar is a Lavani dancer, actress, and thespian. She belongs to the Kolhati community and was born in a village called Malegaon in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra in 1953. Madhu’s father was also a performer and hence, she entered the showbiz industry very early on. She has been a part of numerous Marathi regional plays and adaptations including Viccha Mazi puri kara, Gadhavacha Lagna, Sakhi Mazi Lavani, Bhangadishivay pudhari Nahi, Kashi me Rahu tashich and Mujra ghya sarkar. Her films include Raosaheb, Laxmi, Debu, Shapit, Mala Gheun chala, Dombari, Rikshavali, Yeu ka gharat, Balagandharva, Mazi Chakuli, Raghu maina, Sangharsh jeevanacha, Mazi chakuli, Ek Hota vidushak, Aaj Zale mukta me, Satichi punyayi and Chal re Lakshya Mumbai la.

She has been felicitated with numerous honors and awards some being Lokashahir Patthe Bapurao Puraskar, Natvarya Keshavrao Date Puraskar, Zee Chitra Gaurav Life Time Achievement Award 2018, Hansa Wadkar Special Award for Best Actress and Maharshi Shankarrao Mohite-Patil Lavani Kalavant Puraskar 2007. She was appointed as the chairperson of the Mahila Lokakala Sammelan, Nagpur in 2013. In 2016, she was invited to a cultural event at Yashwant Natya Mandir, Matunga where she fell sick and was hospitalized. She has been partially paralyzed since then.
