Gautam Hegde

Gautam Hegde, the main man behind the creation of the dashing Arnav Singh Raizada and charming Khushi Kumari Gupta in Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon?, is an Indian screenplay writer who works predominantly on Hindi Television. Born to Krishna Hegde and Nirmala Hegde on June 19, Gautham Hegde always had intentions to have a career related to TV, since childhood.

Gautam started his career as a journalist and worked for youth magazines named JAM (Just Another Magazine). But soon, he realized that it was not his cup of tea and quit the job. Following that, he finished TV and Video Production course from St.Xaviers Institute of Communications and entered into the television industry. Gautam worked with Zee Television for three years, and in 2007, he left the job to concentrate on writing.

In 2007, his debut show as a writer, Santaan premiered in Star Plus Channel. After Santaan, Gautham wrote the screenplay for shows including Miley Jab Hum Tum, Love Ne Mile Di Jodi, Geet- Hui Sabse Parayi, Raja Ki Aayegi Baarat, Navya, etc. But it was the Star Plus show Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon? in 2011 that changed his career graph completely. That show gave Gautham a huge recognition, and he received immense praise from the audience for the way he scripted the lead characters, Arnav and Khushi.

He further worked as a writer in shows like Tu Mera Hera, Suhani Si Ek Ladki, Saraswatichandra, Saath Nibhana Saathiya, Rangrasiya, Madhubala- Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, Tu Aashiqui Tu Aashiqui is an Indian-Hindi language television >> Read More... , and Brahmarakshas. Gautham Hegde feels that Comedy and Romance are his forte, and he likes to read books in the same genre.
