Anita Devgan is a Punjabi comedian, theatre artist, and film actress, who earned popularity for her performance as Diljit Dosanjh’s mother in Anurag Singh’s romantic comedy film, Jatt & Juliet (2012) and its sequel, Jatt & Juliet 2 (2013). Since then, the talented lady was usually seen in a motherly role in most of the films she worked on.

In 2013, she acted in Vijay Kumar Arora’s Ronde Sare Vyah Picho (R.S.V.P). The same year, she was cast in Rimpy Prince’ Fer Mamla Gadbad Gadbad. The following year, she donned the romantic comedy film, Proper Patola, which was directed by Harish Vyas. Anita later played as Sonu’s mother in the Punjabi courtroom drama film, Judge Singh LLB and also played as Geja’s (played by Amrinder Gill) mother in the 2015 Punjabi film, Angrej. She played as Taaji’s (played by Binnu Dhillon) mother in Pankaj Batra’s drama film, Channo Kamli Yaar Di.

In 2016, she played the role of Amru’s (played by Roshan Prince) mother in Ksshitij Chaudhary’s Main Teri Tu Mera. In the same year, she played another motherly role in Pankaj Batra’s Bambukat. Also in this year, she was seen in Sukhbir Singh’s romantic comedy film, Teshan.

She started working on stage in the year 1992 and became the director of Theater Persons, a theatre group based in Amritsar, who had performed plays like Damru. Until now, she consistently works on stage, particularly in rural areas and carried the nukkad nataks drama form. She and her husband, Hardeep Gill, have been organizing the Punjab Theatre Festival since 2007.

Anita is giving different theatre groups the opportunity to visit different cities where they can showcase their talents. She aims to get the Punjab Natak from those cities so all those theatre groups can perform in one platform.

Goutam Halder was associated with Nandikar theater group that had its base in Kolkata. The theater group started its first show in the 1960s and found a strong commitment from young theater personalities. In the beginning, there were plays based on English literature and later on, they carried out plays of Rabindranath Tagore too.  But this stage actor did also venture into film direction and made notable critically acclaimed movies like Bhalo Theko in 2003 that featured actress Vidya Balan and actor Soumitra Chatterjee in lead roles. This film fetched him special Jury award at the national film festival. This film also fetched best cinematographer and sound designer award at the 51st national film festival. Actress Vidya Balan received magazine ‘Anandlok’ award for her debut in this movie. In the year 1994, his movie 'Story of Integration' fetched special jury award in the national film festival. in the year 2010, he acted in a Bengali movie 'Tara’ in a supporting role. Thus, Goutam Halder who was a Bengali actor did choose some significant plays that were to come up on the stages of Nandikar Theater. Goutam Halder was associated with plays like Sesh Sakkhatkar, Football, Pheriwalar Mrityu, Meghnadbadh Kabyo, and Borda. After showing his histrionics in theater, the actor paid his attention to Bengali movies. He got associated with directors like Raja Sen, Anjan Dutta and Nitish Roy (to name a few) and played some character roles. In the year 2014, the actor got a prominent role in a movie ‘Maya Mridanga’ which was directed by Raja Sen. In the year 2015, the actor was noticed in a movie made by Nitish Roy and it was titled as ‘Tadanto’. The actor also took interest to perform some solo stage performance and it was noted by audiences.  His solo performances were based on music, poetry and even dance.  The actor took interest in directing some plays and movies too. Recently, he has taken a keen interest to re-invent the stage activities in Kolkata along with his colleagues.
