Usha Naik is a senior actress in the Marathi Cinema who has been acting and performing for a very long time now. She has been a part of over 100 Marathi films. She began her career in the 1970s as a background dancer and junior artist, and since then has acted in over 250 films. She was born in Belgaum, Karnataka, India. Naik is known for her memorable performances and impeccable dancing skills. She acclaimed popularity after the movie Ek Hazarachi Note (2014) in her very long five-decade career and was presented with several awards and recognition, which included a special mention in the Filmfare Awards and the award for the Best Actress at the Pune International Film Festival in 2014.

In an interview, she said, “Honestly, people started noticing my work after Ek Hazarachi Note (2014). Till then, they knew I was an actor and a great dancer. However, after this film they believed I could act ‘well’ (smiles),” She has been an active part of the Marathi Film Industry for over four decades and has seen all trends and dramatic or classic films. She is known for films like Idak (2018), Sasarcha Panga Savaticha Inga (2019), Bhavachi Laxmi (2019), Daddy (2017), Nirmala Machinda Kamble (1999), Carry on Maratha (2015) and several other blockbuster hits. She was also a part of the short film Afternoon Clouds (2017). In her early career, films like Samna (1974), Gaav Tase Changle Pun Veshila Tangale (1985), Kalavantin (1978), and the movie against Kamal Haasan Dekha Pyar Tumhara (1985) made her famous in the industry.
