A social worker from India, Phoolbasan Bai Yadav, has founded an NGO, Maa Bamleshwari Janhit Kare Samiti. Born on 5 December 1969. She is known for her efforts toward the growth of socially and economically backward women in Chhattisgarh. In 2012, she was awarded by the government with the 4th highest Indian civilian award, Padma Shri. To Vision India Foundation, she was the mentor. She appeared in an episode of KBC in the Karamveer special episode. Phoolbasan Bai got married in her childhood and could not complete her schooling. She started to participate in the SHGs of the district. She formed her groups and established ration shops to distribute food to the population below BPL. Since then, her NGP has covered 12000 women's, self-help groups. Phoolbasan Bai Yadav has overcome many obstacles on her way.
Her husband is a cattle grazer. For her hard work and efforts toward women empowerment, she received the Chhattisgarh Minimata Alankaran Award in 2004. In 2008, she has presented with the Zee Tv Astitva award. In 2010, she received awards from the government the Kannagi Stree Shakti award and the Sadhguru Gnanananda national award. For the year 2014, she received the Mahavir Foundation award. Phoolbasan Bai has come a long way and made her name. She is an inspiration to many women.
