Junaid Khan is a prominent Pakistani singer, songwriter and actor. He was born on November 2, 1981, in Lahore, Pakistan to a Muslim family. Initially, he studied at the Divisional Public School and later attended Ibne Sina College Defence. Later, he went to FC College and participated in the Mining Engineering Department of the University of Engineering and Technology in Lahore. He took a degree in Engineering and during his 3rd year, his musical career started. He auditioned for the band called ‘Call’ and got selected to be part of it. Subsequently, he took Masters of Business Administration at the Imperial College in Lahore. 

Junaid along with Sultan Raja and Khurram Jabbar Khan were the first members of the band, Call. Later, he brought Usman and Farooq Nasir to become the guitarists in the band. Soon after, they released their first song entitled Nishaan that went viral in the online world, and their band became one of the mainstream artists in Pakistan. This was followed by a music video of the song titled as Pukaar. This song has put him to become one of the leading vocalists in the country. He was often called as Pakistan’s Chris Cornell and Scott Stapp.

Call started to perform live in several events in the country and abroad. He and Farooq have composed their album, Jilawatan and recorded it at the audio studio of Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan is a famous Pakistani compose >> Read More... (Entity Paradigm band) in Lahore. Later, Usman and Farooq have left the band, and Junaid requested Zulfiqar to become their lead guitarist. The production of Jilawatan was later concluded, and it was completed in the year 2005. In the same year, he penned his very first rock-ballad song, Sab Bhula Kay. This song became a big hit and turned out to be a romantic anthem of the youngsters and of all ages around the world. Jilawatan was then released, which brought them many accolades throughout 2005. This was followed by two back-to-back hit songs, Kuch Nae and Bichar K Bhi.

After this, Junaid became in-demand to several leading brands in the country and had signed deals one after another including Warid Pakistan, Unilever Walls, Pepsi and more. His songs Kal Hamara He, Ho Jaane De, Hum Se He Ye Zamana, etc. was released. The band performed around Pakistan and in other countries like India, UAE, Qatar and U.S.A. They worked in Bollywood and released their songs Laari Chooti, Ye Pal and Dhadke Jia. Call was composing songs during those times and by the year 2011, they have compiled their songs and released their next album entitled Dhoom.

The album was released with the video of Main Esa Hi Hoon. He then became more popular among the country’s top leading brands and had done commercials with Ufone and McDonalds. They also released the track, Badal Do Zamana for Pepsi’s T20 World Cup in the year 2010.

In 2010, he started his acting career through the television serial, Dil Ki Lagi on ATV, from where he received a nomination for Best TV Actor at the Lux Style Award. This was followed by a role in the television sitcom, Kabhi Na Kabhi and the drama serial, Mujhay Roothnay Na Daina, which were both aired on Hum TV channel. Junaid worked on his first solo album and his first solo music entitled So Close, So Distant was released. In the year 2012, he departs from his band to pursue his solo music career. In 2013, his solo track, Keh Do was also released, which features Brian O’Connell (Junoon Band).
