Junaid Khan is a prominent Pakistani singer, songwriter and actor. He was born on November 2, 1981, in Lahore, Pakistan to a Muslim family. Initially, he studied at the Divisional Public School and later attended Ibne Sina College Defence. Later, he went to FC College and participated in the Mining Engineering Department of the University of Engineering and Technology in Lahore. He took a degree in Engineering and during his 3rd year, his musical career started. He auditioned for the band called ‘Call’ and got selected to be part of it. Subsequently, he took Masters of Business Administration at the Imperial College in Lahore. 

Junaid along with Sultan Raja and Khurram Jabbar Khan were the first members of the band, Call. Later, he brought Usman and Farooq Nasir to become the guitarists in the band. Soon after, they released their first song entitled Nishaan that went viral in the online world, and their band became one of the mainstream artists in Pakistan. This was followed by a music video of the song titled as Pukaar. This song has put him to become one of the leading vocalists in the country. He was often called as Pakistan’s Chris Cornell and Scott Stapp.

Call started to perform live in several events in the country and abroad. He and Farooq have composed their album, Jilawatan and recorded it at the audio studio of Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan (Entity Paradigm band) in Lahore. Later, Usman and Farooq have left the band, and Junaid requested Zulfiqar to become their lead guitarist. The production of Jilawatan was later concluded, and it was completed in the year 2005. In the same year, he penned his very first rock-ballad song, Sab Bhula Kay. This song became a big hit and turned out to be a romantic anthem of the youngsters and of all ages around the world. Jilawatan was then released, which brought them many accolades throughout 2005. This was followed by two back-to-back hit songs, Kuch Nae and Bichar K Bhi.

After this, Junaid became in-demand to several leading brands in the country and had signed deals one after another including Warid Pakistan, Unilever Walls, Pepsi and more. His songs Kal Hamara He, Ho Jaane De, Hum Se He Ye Zamana, etc. was released. The band performed around Pakistan and in other countries like India, UAE, Qatar and U.S.A. They worked in Bollywood and released their songs Laari Chooti, Ye Pal and Dhadke Jia. Call was composing songs during those times and by the year 2011, they have compiled their songs and released their next album entitled Dhoom.

The album was released with the video of Main Esa Hi Hoon. He then became more popular among the country’s top leading brands and had done commercials with Ufone and McDonalds. They also released the track, Badal Do Zamana for Pepsi’s T20 World Cup in the year 2010.

In 2010, he started his acting career through the television serial, Dil Ki Lagi on ATV, from where he received a nomination for Best TV Actor at the Lux Style Award. This was followed by a role in the television sitcom, Kabhi Na Kabhi and the drama serial, Mujhay Roothnay Na Daina, which were both aired on Hum TV channel. In 2012, he was cast in the Pakistani serial, Mata-e-Jaan Hai Tu. Junaid was starred in Fahim Barfi’s Yehan Piyar Nahi Hai, alongside Saba Qamar and Mawra Hocane. In the same year, he played the main lead role in the Pakistani telenovela, Madiha Maliha and in Ek Maamooli Si Larki. He went on to appear in television serials such as Kadoorat, Meri Beti, Firaaq, Jaane Kyun, Gumman and more. This year, he acted in his first film, Bin Roye, which was produced and helmed by Momina Duraid. He also acted in few serials like Nikah, Dua and Yeh Mera Deewanapan Hai.

Junaid worked on his first solo album and his first solo music entitled So Close, So Distant was released. In the year 2012, he departs from his band to pursue his solo music career. In 2013, his solo track, Keh Do was also released, which features Brian O’Connell (Junoon Band).

Jonita Gandhi is an exceptionally talented singer from Canada. This Indo-Canadian singer is born in Delhi, brought up in Canada. She also sang a song in Lekar Hum Deewana Dil, (Maaloom) composed by A.R. Rahman. In addition to these numbers, A.R. Rahman had experimented with this singer in his latest super hit O Kadhal Kanmani, 2015. Jonita Gandhi has an ability to perform versatile tones and that is fetching her a lot. She also sang a Telugu song (Nuvve Nuvve) for a Telugu movie called Kick 2. She is also interested a lot in Dancing. She made her stage performance at a very early age such as 3.5 yrs. She has one brother. She is currently pursuing her pre-Ivey from University of Western Ontario. Though she gained enough popularity in Bollywood with all the amazing offers from the classic composers, she still keeps making covers for all famous songs in her own styles. Her covers on "Pani Da Rang" and "someone like you" are very famous among the others.

Jyoti Nooran

Jyoti Nooran is a Punjabi Sufi singer and the sister of Sultana Nooran. The sister’s duo became popular around the country and internationally. They rose to fame after their performance of the super hit song Tung Tung at the MTV Sound Tripping. Jyoti was born on February 24, 1994 in Jalandhar, India. Jyoti came from a family of musicians. She is the granddaughter of the late Bibi Nooran, who is a very popular Punjabi singer during her time. Her father, Ustad Gulshan Meer, trained her and her sister in the traditional Sufi Music for the past ten years and since then they have decided to stick on singing Sufi music only. Gulshan is also composing and arranging music for her daughter’s concerts and other performances. Her singing talent was spotted by his father at her early age and instantly gained a recognition in the television reality show, Nikki Awaaz Punjab Di on MH One channel. Soon after, her brilliant talent, together with her sister, has gained recognitions internationally and they have performed in other countries like Canada. In year 2012, they were featured in the Indian television series, Coke Studio @MTV. The show featured live performances by several artists and the song, Alah Hoo by the Nooran sisters was featured in the show. The duo sang in standing position rather than their usual seated position and their powerful voices created an impact to the audience. In 2014, Jyoti and her sister started singing for films and sang the famous hit song, Patakha Guddi in the drama film, Highway in 2014 along with A. R. Rahman’s Maahi Ve. This earned them several nominations including Best Playback Singer at the Stardust Awards in 2014, Best Female Singer at the Star Guild Awards in 2015, Best Playback Singer at the Filmfare Awards in 2015, Best Music Debut and Best Playback Singer at the Global Indian Music Academy Awards in 2015. Hence, they bagged the Best Playback Singer – Female at the Screen Awards in 2015. This year, the sisters sang Ghani Bawri in the blockbuster romantic comedy drama film, Tanu Weds Manu Returns. They also sang Dum Laga Ke Haisha for another blockbuster Hindi romantic comedy film of the same name. Jyoti also sang a peppy folk number for the Tamil action film, Paayum Puli, which stars Vishal in the lead role. She sang the song, Naa Soodana Mogini, while actress Nikitha is grooving to the tune of it. Jyoti has been into a controversy after she got married to Kunal Passi. She seeks protection in Punjab and Harayana High Court against her parents and sister, as she marries a man of her choice. Her parents showed a matriculation certification in the court and claims that Jyoti is still a minor when she got married, but Jyoti insisted that she was born on 1994 and that she’s no longer a minor when she got married. The court then ordered to send her and her husband to a Chandigarh-based protection home and requested her to prove her age.
