Manali Gavankar

Manali Gavankar was born in the backwoods town of Vasai which is located in North Mumbai. She completed her bachelor in philosophy from Ramnarain Ruia College University of Mumbai in 2014. She flew to the United States in 2019 to pursue masters in production design in Savannah College of Art and Design. Manali has a diploma in interior design from Rachna Sansad School of Interior Design. While growing up she always found her interest in design, storytelling, research and creating projects that narrates the story. Her curiosity to know the backstage work of film making made her discovered production designing field. In the commencement of her career she worked with art department for film and television industry as a set dresser and set decorator.

Her knack for creativity and design led to her first break in Netflix Sense8 season 2 as a set dresser. After that she joined BBC films for the project British feature film Victoria & Abdul. Her accomplishments walked her through the door of T-Series India’s largest music and film Production Company, she assisted in movie Baadshaho with T-series and Blackmail with RDP films. She also worked as a set decorator in a short film Black in SCAD. After working in films of Bollywood, Hollywood and 20+ TV commercials she started as a trainee in Solomon group an entertainment production company to gain an immersive experience and develop skills to continue her journey.
