Asutosh, born in 1965 as Asutosh Gupta, is an Indian journalist, writer, and editorial director working predominantly in the Hindi television industry. From 2014 to 2018, he worked with the Delhi-centric political party Aam Aadmi Party. He is the son of former government official SN Lal Gupta. Asutosh hails from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. He married assistant professor Maneesha Taneja. Asutosh completed his graduation in the science field from Allahabad University. He moved to Delhi to pursue his Master of Arts and M.Phil degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University. He obtained his M.Phil degree in 1990. Ashutosh has worked for several news channels and newspapers, including Dainik Hindustan, Saptahik Hindustan, Aaj Tak, IBN7, and BITV. He is best known for his Hindi news segment Agenda With Ashutosh on IBN7.
Asutosh was working as the managing director of IBN7 when he decided to quit journalism and join a political party. Asutosh is the author of politics-centric English books- Anna:13 Days That Awakened India (2014) and The Crown Prince (2015). He wrote and published a Hindi book Mukhote Ka Rajdharm in 2015. Asutosh wrote Hindu Rashtra, a 2019 non-fiction, detailing his political analysis of India. Asutosh is one of the founders and editorial director of the Hindi news portal satyahindi.com. He is known to anchor the show Ashutosh Ki Baat on the Satya Hindi platform.
