Born and raised in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, Harish Sharma did his schooling at Guru Govind Singh Sports College in Lucknow, where he spent 20 years playing cricket. He completed his bachelor’s degree from Bareilly College and post-graduation from Kumaun College in Pithoragarh. From 1986-1992, Harish Sharma worked as an accomplished journalist for the Hindi newspaper Aaj Dainik and the Press Trust of India (PTI) in Pithoragarh. However, wanting to challenge himself more, Sharma moved to Delhi in 1992 to start afresh as a freelance journalist.
