Tarun Sagar belongs to a musical family in Delhi. Tarun's musical career began at home, as his father, Shri Vidhya Sagar, was a classical vocalist. He later pursued formal classical instruction under Ustad Master Saleem and Ustad Puran Shah Koti. He is a well-known Jagaran singer who has performed for Mata ki Chauki in and across India. The turning point in his career came when he competed in Hero Honda - Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009, a widely popular Indian television musical reality show. He was named "Most Popular Indian Participant" on the show, where he acquired enormous popularity. Tarun Sagar sang 'Banayenge Mandir, Kasam Tumhari Rama, so-called bhajan, which acquired fame in India and in other regions of the world where many Hindus live, in 2007.
His first break came as a playback singer in Akshay Kumar's film House Full Housefull is a Bengali series aired on NTV, writte >> Read More... , where his song Oh Girl Your Mine became a chartbuster. He still performs in India and internationally. He sang background vocals for the recently released film "Arakshan." (For the song "Mauka"). He got nominated for Best New Singing Talent Male (Music) by "Telechakker.com's -New Talent Award 2011" for his song "Oh Girl! You are mine" from the film Houseful.
