Rajesh Bedi started his career in photography in the era of the 1960s. It was the time when Indian wildlife was really in a poor state. No animals and birds have the confidence like today’s zoo animals to meet humans. He has won many awards for his photography. It was the time when Rajesh Bedi came to the world of Indian wildlife with a camera. He has contributed his major part to India, as the Indian private life got to know about nature, with his outstanding photography skills. He was the first Asian to win the Wildlife Photographer of the Year award in 1986 in an international event held in Britain. After that, he got ‘The Lifetime Photography Award’ presented by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Government of India in 2014.
He has a great career, and his remarkable work has been published in many popular magazines such as Life USA, Bunte and Stern, National Geographic USA, Geo, and many more. He has also won awards for nature photography. He has published many books, namely Banaras: City of Shiva, Sadhus: The Seekers of Salvation, and Rajasthan: Under the Desert Sky. He held many solo exhibitions to learn about the world of Sadhus.
