British composer Nainita Desai works in writing music for movies, television shows, and video games. Her Indian parents brought up Nainita in London, where she was born. She has a degree in mathematics and attended the National Film and Television School to study sound design. She attended City University London and the University of Westminster. She studied the violin, piano, guitar, sitar, singing, and other instruments as a result of her varied musical upbringing. Additionally, she serves as an ambassador for Screen Skills UK, is a full voting member of AMPAS, BAFTA, and Emmys, and regularly serves on juries for the Emmys, BAFTAs, RTS, and other significant industry honors. She frequently conducts master classes and interviews about her work at events like the Royal College of Music, NFTS, World Soundtrack Awards Ghent, Royal Academy of Music, Cannes Film Festival, LA Comic Con USA, Rio de Janeiro Brazil, Sheffield Doc Fest, Soundtrack Cologne, Moshita Music Conference South Africa, Sundane 2020, and WOMEX in Copenhagen.
