Born on 20th December 1924 in Rawalpindi, British Punjab, she went to Delhi to complete her Senior Cambridge Diploma before joining the Academy of Arts and Music in Lucknow.
The year 1942 was a crucial one for Swaran as she made her first portentous contribution on the silver screen with the film Awaaz. After marrying Nazir Ahmed, a famous director, producer, and actor, Swaran converted to Islam and changed her name to Saeeda Bano. The couple was able to manage a lot of superhit projects, both before and after the partition. They were considered as the pioneers of the Pakistani film industry. During her acting days, Swaran featured in more than 50 major film projects, out of which, 22 happened before partition. On 8th February 2008, she lost her life at the age of 83 due to natural causes.Â
