Richa Panai is an Indian-born model and actress, who has done films in Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi. She debuted in 2011, with the Malayalam film “Vaadamalli.” She became popular through a lot of commercials that she took up in her initial days. One commercial, which made her a popular face in the industry, was for a jewelry brand “Bhima Jewellery.” In an interview, she talked about how she made it to the industry. She was brought up in Lucknow. Belonging to a conservative family, which had its reservations about the world of showbiz, she did experience a lot of constraints.
Richa completed her schooling from Hindustan Aeronautical Limited School, in Lucknow. After completing her school, she participated in the Miss Lucknow contest, which she won as well. Winning the title gave her immense confidence to pursue a career into modeling, but she felt the constraint from her family. She decided to complete her correspondence course from Delhi University, while always on a look out for some modeling assignments.
After completing her course from Delhi University, Richa got an opportunity with Kingfisher, to be an air hostess. Jabbar Kalarakkal gave Richa a first ad film to work on. In 2011, she worked on her first Malayalam film “Vaadamalli.” Its success got her two other films, “Bangkok Summer” opposite
and “Sandwich” alongside
. “Bangkok Summer” is directed by Pramod-Pappan group, and the main story revolves around love, betrayal, race, and money. It did commercially decent in the industry. “Sandwich” was a Malayalam film directed by M.S Manu. This is his maiden project that had a mixed response from the industry. Richa was seen as playing a supporting role in the movie. In 2012, Richa won the Fresh Face Award, at the Asianet Film Awards.
Richa debuted in Telugu films with “Yammudiki Mogudu” opposite
. Later she went on to do a guest role “Manasunu Maaya Seyake” in 2013. In 2015, she debuted with Kannada movie “
