Priyanka Thakare is a Hindi television actress. Though not very well known in her field of work, she has still managed to score quite a few roles in the television industry. Though doing small time jobs, at first, her face came into limelight with Singhasa Battisi. It is a mythological show, which was originally telecast on Sony Pal. Her biggest break till date was when she was hooked to play the role of Suyasha, in Devon ka Dev….Mahadev. Suyasha is the daughter of Vayudev. This show started in 2011 and had continued steadily for three years, on Life Ok. This show brought her into a moderately bright limelight, as it is one of the most popular shows on Indian television. DKDM was dubbed in eight different languages, with different names as well. In Bengali it was Devadidev Mahadev, in Tamil it was Shivam, the Malayalam version was named Kailasanathan while the Oriya version was christened Mahadev.

The Telugu, Assamese, Marathi and Indonesian versions were titled Hara Hara Mahadeva, Mahadev, Devanche Dev Mahadev and Mahadeva respectively. After this project, she took on another show, Mere Angne Mein on Star Plus. Here, she plays the role of a joyful, easy-going girl named Suruchi. The story goes that, Suruchi proposes to Vyom, who sadly, refuses to marry her. The rest of the story unfolds accordingly. Priyanka also starred on an episode of Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chashma on Sab TV, where she played the role of a saleswoman employed under Jethalal Champaklal Gada. Later, she tries to screw his life over by creating a scandal of her affair with the married, one-woman-man Jetha.

Although she doesn’t have a lot of feathers in her cap, she has received proper reviews for the work that she has done. Admittedly, she has enough potential to make it large, if guided well.

Rashaana Shah is an Indian actress and producer known for her works in the parallel cinema world. According to, Rashaana happens to be executive producer of Mulberry Films. She has chipped in films like Rang Rasiya, The Last Monk, Maanjhi: The Mountain Man, and Meenaxi: A Tale of Three Cities. In 2002, she featured in an Odia feature Dharini under the direction of SusantMisra. Dharini is a female-oriented motion picture about four women who look to defy the male chauvinistic mindset in the society. She worked in MaqboolFida Hussain’s Meenaxi: A Tale of Three Cities which focused on the story of Nawab who struggles with the problem of writer’s block. Shah enacted the role of an Andhra danseuse in this Hussain’s pet project. In Sudipto Sen’s English drama “The Last Monk,” she performs the part of Swapna who develops feelings for Sonic, a guide who accompanies her while she is in Ladakh to finish her thesis on Buddhist philosophy. The Last Monk got selected for the screening at the prestigious Cannes film festival. Rashaana came to the prominence when the veteran director Ketan Mehta cast her for the character of Kamini in his controversial outing Rang Rasiya (Hindi) which also goes under the name of “Colors of Passion” for its English version. Rang Rasiya is a cinematic adaptation of the life of Raja Ravi Varma, one of the India’s finest painters during the freedom struggle era. Rang Rasiya drew the ire of censor board for its nude scenes. While RandeepHoodaplayed the character of Raja Ravi Varma, Rashaana showed up as her wife, Kamini. During the filming of the song ‘O Kamini,’ Randeep and Rashaana had an intimate scene on the rocks in the region of Alupuzzha waterfalls. Producer Deepa Sahi recalled that they somehow recorded the song sequence when the unit came to know about the problem of rising water level of the waterfall. Rang Rasiya was slated to release in 2008, the board gave the nod for the screening of the film after a long tussle over the explicit content. Although Randeep and Nandana Sen remained in the limelight, critics loved Rashaana’s brief but powerful contribution to the biographical drama. Later, she acted in JackkyBhagnani’s first film KalKissneDekha as Yana. Eventually, KalKissneDekha flopped after its weak performance in the theaters. Between 2009 and 2015, she worked in Bollywood Hero (TV show), Ammar Maa (A Bengali short video), The Mumbai Trilogy. She teamed up with Ketan Mehta for the biopic on DasharathManjhi, who was in the news for carving a path through a hillock in Bihar. With Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte in Manjhi: The Mountain Main, her role was of Bhanwari. Produced by Viacom 18, Manjhi impressed the viewers by highlighting the need for determination to achieve success. Recently, she co-produced Himanshu Malik’s Quod Erat Demonstrandum.
