Anu Ahuja

Anu Ahuja was born in Gurgaon in India. After her higher education, Anu decided to pursue her dreams of becoming a model, and owing to her luck, she got introduced to the famous fashion designer Shantanu Sheoray, who nurtured her talents and guided her to a successful career in fashion modeling. Anu felt that she was capable of doing a lot more to the fashion industry by being a choreographer rather than being a model alone, thereby splitting her attention not only to the fashion industry but also to Bollywood as well.

Anu Ahuja has a very idealistic viewpoint on modeling and models in particular. She is strictly against models using airbrushes and photoshop filters to change their appearance- such as changing the facial texture or body structure itself. She believes that such artificiality is a big lie since it creates a feeling in viewers that they lack something that the models possesses while the truth is that such appearances are impossible to come by naturally.

Anu is married to Andrew Piers, who works as a professional media consultant in Melbourne. The talent that she employs in her career was put to good use in the planning of her wedding ceremonies. Anu has received various recognitions in the course of her career as a fashion designer, including the privilege of attending International fashion events such as the Fashion Awards, Lakme Fashion Week, Mai Mumbai. She was also appointed as a show director of the Miss India Organization.

Though Anu Ahuja believes that a model must commit herself to her career by following prescribed diet and schedule, she does not believe in the compulsion of setting impossible standards such as gaining size zero. She is of the feminist viewpoint that fashion standards such as size zeroes are nothing but the objectification of the female body.
