Ravi Kishan Shukla, or ostentatiously known by his stage name of Ravi Kishan, is a Bhojpuri film and television artist. Kishan has also acted in many well-known Bollywood movies such as "Tere Naam", "
Phir Hera Pheri", "Pitambar", "
Welcome to Sajjanpur", and "
Luck", among many others. Kishan was also a finalist on the 2006 season of the reality television show,
Bigg Boss. The year of 2012 also saw him as a participant on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 5. Kishan is also affiliated with the Indian National Congress Party.
Kishan was brought up in a Brahmin family in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. Even though his family wasn’t well off, Kishan’s first paycheck of Rs. 5000 for his movie debut in the 1992
Mithun Chakraborty starrer, "Pitambar", meant a lot to his family. In 1994, Kishan featured in the

The following year saw Kishan in the Raj N. Sippy-directed, "Koi Kisi Se Kam Nahin", the Dharmendra starrer, "Agnee Morcha", and the Sanjay Khan-directed television series, "
Jai Hanuman". In 1998, Kishan featured in Chetan Anand’s drama film, "
Kudrat", the Akshay Kumar and
Saif Ali Khan starrer, "Keemat", and the Mithun Chakraborty starrer war movie, "Aaya Toofan".
The start of the millennium decade saw Kishan in the
Tinnu Anand starrer, "500 Ka Note", and was casted alongside Mithun Chakraborty in the action flick, "Marshal". But it was in the Satish Kaushik-directed, "Tere Naam", that Kishan started gaining recognition for his portrayal of a priest. The movie also featured
Salman Khan and
Bhumika Chawla in the lead roles. Kishan also had a supporting role in the Anti-Sikh riot film, "

Besides, Kishan pocketed the rights to dub "Spiderman 3" in Bhojpuri, making it the first Hollywood movie to be done so.
