The actress took birth and got raised in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Kate completed her schooling from Sri Satya Sai Niketan High School, Mumbai.

She did her Bachelors in Commerce from Mumbai University. As a child, Kate had a deep fascination for dancing and acting. She took training in various dance forms, including, Salsa, Kathak, and Belly dance. Kate often participated in a lot of dancing competitions in her teenage life.

After the completion of her graduation, she entered the field of modeling. Kate began her acting career with commercial advertising. The year of 2016 was the turning point of her life for she won three different pageants, which include, Miss Pune Selfie Queen, Miss India Teen Princess, and Miss Pune Online. The felicitations made Kate immensely confident and happy.

When asked about her favorite experience, she told that being awarded the Miss Pune Selfie Queen was by far the best thing for her. Kate loves to take selfies and very actively shares the pictures on her social media handles. Kate Sharma made her television debut with the very popular Indian mythological drama series, titled, "Paramavatara Shri Krishna."

The serial is an adaptation of Bhagavad Gita and the show had a total of 301 episodes. Kate played the part of Asti, a negative role in the show. "Meri Durga" was Kate's second show, and she played a negative part in both the shows.
